Sugar Hill Outdoors: Beautifying the South, One Project at a Time

When it comes to landscaping, there really isn’t much that Sugar Hill Outdoors can’t do. The design/build outdoor construction company offers customers a myriad of services to help transform their yards into works of art, with virtually limitless possibilities. With an experienced and highly skilled team, they handle both residential and commercial hardscape and landscape installation. The perfection is easily observed in every detail of their work with each project they touch.

Located in Lawrenceville, Ga., Sugar Hill Outdoors has been operating for over 16 years after opening in 1998. Initially serving customers throughout Georgia, word quickly spread throughout the south about the talented landscaping and design architects, who are now also serving in parts of North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama.

Whether it’s residential or commercial property, Sugar Hill Outdoors works on anything and everything outside that customers need. The services they offer extend from landscaping for outdoor entertainment areas and hardscaping for retaining walls, pavers, driveways, porches and decks. Additionally they do tree care and water features for building waterfalls, ponds, fountains and aquascapes. Other areas they cover are irrigation for sprinkler systems, erosion prevention, and commercial landscaping for new development and master planning.

In their first year as a company, Sugar Hill Outdoors rented equipment to get a better sense of it before buying. After renting and having a great deal of success with a Takeuchi track loader, they decided to purchase one the following year. Currently, they are armed with a TL130 compact track loader and a brand new TL8 compact track loader in their equipment lineup.

“We purchased our first Takeuchi back in 1999 and compared to any other compact machine, the Takeuchi flat out blows other track loaders away,” said Clint Tucker, owner and founder of Sugar Hill Outdoors. “We do quite a few modular block retaining walls and the TL8 is great at moving those modular blocks around and in building those walls for us – it’s the best machine for the job.”

The TL8—released earlier this year by Takeuchi—was designed and engineered to provide superior power, strength and maneuverability – especially in tight spaces and corners. Weighing just over 8,000 pounds with a tipping load of 6,000 pounds, the TL8 is equipped with 15.7-inch wide tracks. It possesses the power and maneuverability Sugar Hill Outdoors needs to get the job done.

One residential project the company started in July required the TL8 to help build a wall. The scope of work required them to tear off the existing deck of their customers’ house, regrade and pad out an area for a concrete patio. They needed to cut into the existing slope to allow the TL8 to assist in building a modular block retaining wall before they did the final grade in landscaping. With the right machines in their lineup along with their expertise, Sugar Hill Outdoors made light work of the job finishing at the end of July.

A great amount of detail goes into each project Sugar Hill Outdoors undertakes from the design plans to the finishing touches. The company goes about it the right way, with hard work, delivering on time and on budget, and taking pride in every project they do. From patios to waterfalls, Sugar Hill Outdoors is beautifying the south one project at a time, increasing property value and bringing happiness to customers along the way.
