You may have already heard the big news about our Pendergrass, Georgia, operation that was announced recently. If you have not, we are currently under construction as our plans to build a new distribution facility take shape. The expansion will be instrumental in helping the Takeuchi brand grow.
The distribution facility on Takeuchi’s campus will increase the storage space by over 40 percent and will provide additional parts and machine storage for future growth through 2019 and beyond. With the new facility, we are building for the future and continued growth here at Takeuchi. The facility is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015, and we will feel an immediate impact as it brings new employment opportunities to the area.
Located in the Valentine Farms Industrial Park development, the current operation has over 70 full-time associates and provides machine storage, parts distribution and a training area for dealers and their employees.
As the economy continues to improve, we have seen strong numbers as well as an increase in machine demand. Not only are we excited about our expansion plans, but it will also provide additional employment opportunities within our company. When you can positively impact your community with additional job prospects due to increased growth and development, it is a win-win situation for everyone.
Speaking of machine demand, our TL8 track loader has been wildly successful on the market and was recently recognized with an Equipment Today Contractors’ Top 50 New Products Award for 2015. This was an honor because the very people who are actually using the products in the field determine nominees. The nominations are based on Equipment Today’s reader inquiries on new products as well as page views and inquiries on their website, ForConstructionPros.com.
Between the expansion plans and the TL8, the third quarter saw a lot of momentum for Takeuchi, including a brand-new product to the market with the TS80 skid steer. The TS80 is the largest model in our skid steer lineup, which includes the TS50 and TS60. The new machine has excellent operating capacity and hydraulic performance.
The Takeuchi brand has grown immensely over the past few years, and none of this would be possible without outstanding customers and our hard-working team located throughout the country. So, we thank you for your continued support as we get closer to a new year.
