The Best People, the Best Partnerships, and the Best Equipment

Clay Eubanks, President, Takeuchi-US

2013 was another busy year for all of us here at Takeuchi U.S. This year, even with all its ups, downs and uncertainty provided us with even more opportunity to expand our footprint here in the United States. We’ve continued to grow by bringing in the right people, working with the best distributors, and by continually leading the charge in compact equipment innovation.

The Best People

The employees of Takeuchi are what really set us apart in this competitive industry. I know when I look back on all the success we have had, the one thing that will be the most special to me is the chance I have had to work with some amazing, dedicated, caring and passionate individuals.  Please know how hard our group works to help insure your success!

This year we were able to add some truly outstanding individuals to the Takeuchi US team. Hampton Wideman has joined us as our new Southwest Regional Business Manager. Mr. Wideman has over 25 years of experience in leading operations, business development and business planning with regional and national companies, and has proven to be a fantastic addition to our team. Mr. Rocky Chernow has joined us as our new Western Regional Business Manager. Rocky brings over three decades of expertise in the heavy equipment industry, and is now heading up all activities in the West.

Paul Kindlespire is our new Midwest Regional Business Manager. Paul has many years of experience in the construction equipment industry. He has worked for several manufacturers and in dealerships, giving him valuable insight on how to conduct business and set objectives. We have also appointed Jeff Vodnik as Midwest Regional Product Manager. Jeff is responsible for all equipment sales activity within the Midwest region, as well as product training for dealer sales staff, and assisting with equipment demonstrations for new and existing Takeuchi dealers.

Finally, we brought on a new Director of Sales – Mr. Kim Robinson. Kim is a seasoned professional with over thirty years of experience in finance, sales, product development and executive-level management in the construction and agriculture industries.

The Best Partnerships

We have also further expanded our dealer network this year. Our dealer network is the key to our success, and we are proud that it now includes names such as FMI Sales, Road Builders Machinery & Supply Co., A. Montano, Waukesha-Pearce Industries, Ditch Witch of Arizona, Hawkins-Graves Inc., Binder Machinery Company and many more.

The Best Equipment

In late 2012, we introduced our new line of Takeuchi Skid Steer Loaders. These new machines offer Takeuchi customers a wide range of options, and provide an outstanding blend of power, performance, durability and operator comfort. The new line of skid steer loaders also feature class-leading ground clearance and angle of departure, incredible tractive effort, and powerful digging forces, as well as a load-sensing, pilot controlled drive system that helps keep the machine operating at maximum efficiency. Getting into the skid steer market was tough, and although a lot of companies manufacture compact equipment, no one does it better than us.

We also introduced our newest hydraulic excavator, the TB260. Packed with new features, the most noticeable change is to the exterior of the machine which has been totally redesigned and updated to provide a more modern appearance, better visibility, and improved service access.  A new automotive-styled interior includes a multi-function monitor and switch panel, electronic throttle control, and pilot controls with dual proportional slide switches to control auxiliary hydraulic functions. The TB260 also features a more powerful turbo charged engine that delivers over 47 horsepower, provides smooth efficient power, and is Final Tier 4 compliant meeting the latest EPA emissions requirements.

With the holidays in full swing, it’s only a matter of time before we see you out at AED, The Rental Show and CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Keep an eye out for us, because while I don’t want to spoil any surprises, I can certainly promise you that more new and innovative compact equipment from Takeuchi is on its way for 2014.

Once again, on behalf of everyone here at Takeuchi US, I want to thank our dealers and our loyal customers. Happy holidays to you and yours.
